CHOW - Refurbished Pantry Opens Now!

Several weeks ago the pantry freezer stopped working and needed to be replaced. Thanks to parishioner Chris Mitchell, and her financial gift, we purchased a new freezer and refurbished the CHOW pantry, including installing new flooring, cleaning, and making a few compliance changes necessary to operate.

Thanks to Barb Stanton, Gene Stanton, Tom Savory, Jim Davidson, and Nancy McGorry for providing their time and commitment. We will re-open November 1st as planned.

Kevin Shea
Senior Warden
CHOW Coordinator

Please purchase a replacement floor tile for CHOW for $10. There will be a donation jar in the back of the Sanctuary now through January.
Before & After

Check-ins & Short Survey

Soon you should hear from a Parish member via phone or email. We are once again reaching out to be in touch with our parishioners to check in, confirm contact information, and to ask a few questions which will help our parish discern priorities and ministries in the year and years ahead. We look forward to connecting.

Feel free to fill out the survey any time at:

Podcast on Graced Conversations

Christ Episcopal Church has been supporting the Community of Grace, an intentional multi-racial group of conversation and non-liturgical worship. Christ Church and Community of Grace have much in common in Christ. Community of Grace is a church plant led by Rev. Alicia Dixon-Garrard. Mother Elizabeth participated in podcasts for this group. You can listen to the podcast here.

Christ Church was the venue for Community of Grace's music and art videos for Advent and Christmas. I encourage you to listen to the podcasts and explore Community of Grace's website:

Roofers have taken the first steps to prepare the roof for Lupini to put the capstones and the cross back on the roof in the next few weeks.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this project. Including the Diocese's grant of $5,000, and a matching grant of $10,000 from Landmarks Conservancy Sacred Sites, donations and pledges of over $70,000 have been received to date!

Your generosity and patience are GREATLY appreciated.
One small step for Lupini Construction, one giant step for Christ Church.

Pledges & Donations

Christ Episcopal Church remained and remains present to our congregation and the broader community in this time of pandemic. We thank all who have supported our work and worship and ask for your ongoing contributions that we may remain a positive presence in the lives of many and in caring for one another.
Pledges and other donations can be mailed to the church. If you do not have envelopes, we will use the name on your check.
You can donate via our website at You can now click donate to send your pledge or other special donations. You can donate specifically to CHOW, Katie's Closet, the Rector's Discretionary Fund and Cross/Roof Repair.

A big THANK YOU to those who already have!

Christ Church Amazon

When you're shopping on amazon go to and list "Christ Church Binghamton" as your charity of choice. The Church will receive .5 % of your purchase!
Over $500 has been given to Christ Church from your purchases since its program began. THANK YOU for designating Christ Church to receive these proceeds. Every little bit helps.

Prayers & Prayer List

I cannot tell you how the light comes, but that it does. That it will. That it works its way into the deepest dark that enfolds you, though it may seem long ages in coming or arrive in a shape you did not foresee.

And so we pray we may turn ourselves toward the light giving thanks for Christ’s birth and this communion. May we lift our faces to let the light find us. May we bend our bodies to follow the arc it makes. May we open and open more and open still to the blessed light that comes. *

With thanks to Jan Richardson*

Prayer List

In the week ahead, please pray for comfort and healing for: Bill, Bobbie, Candie, Connor, Connie, Dan Barker & family, Don, George, Joell, Kathy, Mark, Millie, Mother Elizabeth, Osmond, Pat, Rick, Rose, Sally, and Scott.

Prayer for our Country:

Almighty God, who hast given us this good land for our heritage: We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of thy favor and glad to do thy will. Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in thy Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to thy law, we may show forth thy praise among the nations of the earth. In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail; all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
