Celebrate a church that proudly affirms God's love for all God's people with our "Proud Episcopalian" rainbow tee. On the back is a quote from our Presiding Bishop: "If it's not about love, it's not about God."

Announcements

BRAVO!!!
The return of Cabaret was a resounding success. A well-attended, appreciative audience was treated to a night of music and humor. Thank you Susan MacLennan for initiating and planning a night where worldly events could be put aside for a few hours. Thank you also to those who performed and who otherwise contributed to the successful return of Cabaret--you were great!

Recruiting New Vestry Members
Please give prayerful consideration to being a member of the Vestry. The Vestry members whose three year terms are ending are: Mari McCormick; Maryse Quinn; Barb Stanton. Also, Kevin Shea's two year term as Senior Warden is ending.
The unexpired terms of Jim Davidson (two years) and Mark Smith (two years) will also need to be filled.
Mark Smith has agreed to run for the position of Junior Warden.
The Vestry generally meets once a month starting at 7:00 p.m., with the summer months off for good behavior. If you are interested in being on the Vestry, please contact Kevin Shea, the head of the Nominating Committee. We need you.

Annual Meeting
Christ Church will hold its annual meeting on June 12, 2022 opening at 10 a.m. with our worship service. The meeting and worship will be in person and on Zoom.
All members over age 16 are eligible to vote. All members over age 16 who contributed to the finances and service of Christ Church in the past year may run for Vestry.
To run for Warden, a person must also have served on Vestry.

Two Positions Open: Part-time Sexton and Clerk of the Vestry
Christ Church has been blessed with wonderful property team leadership, currently Jim Davidson, who have undertaken or coordinated repair tasks around the church building and have kept an eye on the maintenance and condition of our space.
The Vestry decided to switch to a paid part-time sexton who would regularly check the building and who would coordinate and undertake repairs as needed.
We are working out the full structure, but please let Ed Sarzynski or Mother Elizabeth know if you have someone in mind, including yourself.
Nancy McGorry has served this church and the Vestry admirably as clerk of the Vestry. Accurate minutes and tracking of motions are important to our work. Nancy will be stepping down, and we are seeking someone as the new Clerk of the Vestry.
The main job is attending Vestry meetings and the annual meeting, keeping accurate minutes, sending these out for approval, and maintaining our Vestry notebooks. If interested, please contact Kevin Shea or Mother Elizabeth.

On two evenings, we will hold dinners for the campers and their families and others who would like to attend.
Contact Debbie McLeod if you are interested or have children, grandchildren, cousins, friends who might like to attend.

Assisting Ukraine
Should you wish to assist people in Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees, here are two opportunities to consider:
1) Episcopal Relief and Development has created a special fund and is working to get assistance in and to refugee communities. Your funds will be matched by the Diocese if you donate through them. https://cnyepiscopal.org. You can also write a check to Christ Church.
2) Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church on 230 Ukrainian Hill Road in Johnson City is sending shipments directly to Europe to assist people.
They seek brand new children's clothes, underwear, socks, medical supplies, sanitary items for women, and other personal hygiene items.
You can drop these off at Sacred Heart Church directly or bring items to Christ Church and we will take them to Sacred Heart.

Restrictions for Indoor Worship Services
Everyone will wear a mask when entering and exiting the sanctuary and when in line for communion. You may mask throughout the service and please return to distancing. We encourage everyone eligible for the Covid vaccine to receive it for their own safety and for the love of neighbor.
No offering plate will be passed. Gifts will be collected online or in plates placed near the Church entrance.
Parking in the Metro Center parking lot is available. Press the button and take a ticket to enter. Please leave the entry ticket in the car so that it is readily available when exiting. Ushers will provide a ticket which you will need to exit. Both tickets will be needed in order to exit.

Rogation Sunday - Pray for All Creation
Sunday is Rogation Sunday, the sixth Sunday of Easter and before the Feast of the Ascension. In our Episcopal-Anglican tradition this holiday is a time for blessing the fields and agricultural production. For me it is a wonderful time for planting or planning planting, depending on the date. The collect below widens our Rogation practice to include celebrating the …

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35 I long to be identified as Christian, as a follower of Jesus Christ, thanks to my acts of love and mercy, and an obvious sense of inner peace and joy. This no doubt will take a lifetime and beyond to …
