A Message from Mother Katrina
|
|
Spiritual Formation is the development of our heart, mind and soul towards the will of God. Spiritual formation shapes us as individuals within community and impacts how we respond to people and the ministry we do. As Episcopalians, our spiritual formation begins in worship and is enhanced by the regular reception of Christ’s body and blood in the Eucharist. At Christ Church, we have services of Holy Eucharist at 10:00 am on Sunday and at Noon on Tuesdays. Spiritual formation continues through study in the context of community. Our Sunday School offers children opportunities that shape them as faithful Christians on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. In addition, our weekly Bible study in the Great Hall on Tuesdays at 10:30 am provides a forum for adults to be formed by scripture. As the new year begins, consider attending church more regularly and immerse yourself in meaningful conversation by joining our vibrant study of the scriptures. May 2023 bring you renewed faith and abundant joy.

Join us at Christ Church Sunday at 10:00 a.m. for Holy Eucharist.

Sunday School
|
|
Sunday School will meet from 10:00 to 10:30 am on Sundays.
|
|
Sunday School will not meet when there is a school holiday weekend.

Holy Eucharist every Tuesday at Noon in the Lounge.

|
|
|
Rosary
|
Rosary will meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m.

Vestry Meetings
|
Vestry meetings are usually conducted on the second Tuesday of each month starting at 7:00 pm. For those who might be interested in observing our meetings, they are conducted in person in the Great Hall and via Zoom. If anyone wishes to observe via Zoom, please provide your email address to Mark Smith to receive an invitation to the Zoom meeting. Mark's email address is: mzg9ns@yahoo.com.

For those interested in what occurred at a Vestry meeting, a copy of the minutes of a meeting will be posted on the Vestry bulletin board in the Great Hall and on the bulletin board opposite the Dewees chapel, after they have been approved at the next Vestry meeting.

Muriel Dando's funeral service will be held at Christ Church, Saturday at 1:00 pm. There will not be a reception following the funeral.

Outreach

Winter Warmth
|
Donations of hats, scarves, gloves, packs of thick socks, and coats can be donated to the church in support of our Winter Warmth project and Katie's Clothing Closet after the Sunday worship service, or any time during office hours.
|

Katie's Closet
|
|
We are currently looking for volunteers for a couple of hours each month to help with the clothing closet. If you are interested please contact Rick Pescatore, Diane Button, or the church office. Thank you!

Fall Pledge Campaign for 2023
Thank you to everyone who submitted a financial pledge for Christ Church’s 2023 operating budget. We currently have 39 pledges for a total of just over $118,000. Christ Church needs additional pledges to meet its 2023 budget. If you have not made a pledge, please return your pledge card as soon as possible. Your generous contributions make the ministry of Christ Church possible. Together, and with God’s grace, we can accomplish the mission of Jesus Christ to spread love and hope in Binghamton and beyond. Thank you!

2023 Liturgical Calendars
|
|
2023 Liturgical Calendars are now available. This year’s photo features Father Jim, Mother Katrina and Deacon Kay. Calendars will be available on Sunday during Coffee Hour in the Great Hall or in the Church Office Monday through Thursday. We are happy to announce the cost remains at $5.00 each. Thanks to Ed Sarzynski for supplying photos. Questions can be directed to Barb Stanton.
