The Rev. Scott Parnell, Rector

Fr. Scott Parnell was called as the Rector (or Senior Pastor) of Christ Church in 2024. He is passionate about proclaiming the Gospel and inviting everyone he meets to “come and see” — because we have found the Messiah.
Parnell came to Christ Church after serving as Rector of Ware Episcopal Church, a colonial parish in Gloucester, Virginia and Chaplain at Christchurch School in Urbanna, Virginia. Prior to ordination, he served as Director of Youth Ministries at Church of the Good Shepherd in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Parnell attended Virginia Theological Seminary and graduated with a Master in Divinity in 2017. He is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the School of Theology at The University of the South: Sewanee.
The Rev. Kay Drebert, Deacon
Deacon Kay Drebert was ordained as a deacon in 1998 and has served in various ministries across three dioceses and over 20 parishes. With a background in Secondary Education and Social Sciences, she holds a Master’s in Management and Social Work.
Currently, she works as a Senior Licensed Clinician at an outpatient clinic, providing mental health and substance use counseling. Kay is active in racial reconciliation, social justice, and LGBTQ+ ministry. She serves on the Standing Committee of the Diocese of Central New York, facilitates substance use discussions, and serves on local suicide prevention and harm reduction committees.
Kay lives with her wife, Becky, and their two Golden Retrievers in Chenango Forks.
The Rev. Jim Jones, Priest Associate
Fr. Jim Jones is a retired priest of the Diocese of Central New York who has chosen to make Christ Church is home parish.
Jones periodically assists on Sunday mornings, as well as leads services for a local assisted living facility.
