Earth's crammed with heaven, And every common bush afire with God, But only he who sees takes off his shoes; The rest sit round and pluck blackberries.
– Elizabeth Barrett Browning
This Thursday and next I am away taking some time apart. Though I imagine some hours will be in the spirit of sitting around and plucking blackberries, my hope is the time away from schedules will help make space to see the burning bushes all around me.
I invite us to ponder this poem in the week ahead.
With every blessing,
