We have a gift of democracy which like all gifts needs to be cared for and tended.
To vote safely, call your Board of Elections to insure you receive your absentee ballot. In Broome County the number is 607-778-2172.

You can apply online by going to https://www.broomevotes.com/earlyvoting. Your clergy have done this. It was quick and easy.

In New York, all registered voters can request an absentee ballot

(under the “temporary illness” excuse) Broome County will start mailing ballots to civilians on September 21. If you choose to vote by absentee ballot, then there are several ways you can cast your completed, signed ballot.

  1. Put it in the mail ensuring it receives a postmark no later than November 3rd
  2. Drop it off at an Early Voting poll site between October 24 and November 3rd
  3. Drop it off at a poll site on November 3rd by 9pm
  4. Drop it off at your county Board of Elections Office starting September 8th through no later than November 3.

In addition to absentee voting, you may wish to vote early from October 24th to November 1st. The lines are often shorter. You can vote in-person on Election Day, November 3rd. Stay safe, social distance, wear a mask.

Broome County Board of Election poll inspector application forms are available in the church office. You can request to have one mailed or pick one up during office hours.

Please consider being a poll worker this year. You can also contact them at the above number or website to obtain more information.
