Nonviolence Training with Peacemaker Teams
|
|
We have been seeing increasing numbers of protests and vigils as our country wrestles with racial and gender injustices and the nation. For the most part, protests have been and remain peaceful, but sometimes a small or larger group can turn to violence. Police, too, struggle with their response. Looking ahead, the Diocese is offering training to help us de-escalate those tending toward violence and to guide participants in remaining peaceful. Due to rising cases of COVID-19 in Broome County and the Binghamton area we are currently delaying a return to in-person worship services. In addition, all in person Bible Study meetings will be postponed until further notice. We will continue to hold Zoom services and provide Virtual Worship and Pastoral Services. Read more

Last week each family should receive materials to use during Zoom classes. If you did not receive your materials please let us know. We offer classes for pre-school + early elementary and mid-elementary. We are looking at starting classes for middle school and high school age groups.

Bible Study
|
Due to the recent rise of COVID-19 Cases in Broome County Bible Study will be only via Zoom until further notice.
Each week we read and ask questions about the lectionary for the upcoming Sunday. We explore some history and context and spend most of our time looking at what the scripture is saying to us about our lives. You do not need to have a Bible background to come. Just bring a willingness to learn, listen and join in the conversation.

Join us each Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. via Zoom for Compline and Conversation on Race. This is a special time to anchor our midweek with prayer and to explore together the stories, history and questions of race in our country.

O blessed Lord, you ministered to all who came to you. Look with compassion upon all who through addiction have lost their health and freedom. Restore to them the assurance of your unfailing mercy, remove from them the fears that beset them, strengthen them in the work of their recovery, and to those who care for them, give patient understanding and persevering love. Amen.
