Water Street Traffic Patterns To Change Friday

Mayor Richard C. David announced that traffic patterns will change on Water Street in downtown Binghamton beginning Friday, November 12th to facilitate the pending demolition of the Water Street parking garage next month.

Water Street will become one-way, with traffic flowing north between Court Street to Henry Street. Vehicular access to the Water Street parking garage will be maintained prior to demolition, with access from Court Street to Water Street only.

Construction crews this week are removing the existing medians and striping for new on-street parking.

The on-street parking will be free with a two-hour limit.

Prayers & Prayer List

I cannot tell you how the light comes, but that it does. That it will. That it works its way into the deepest dark that enfolds you, though it may seem long ages in coming or arrive in a shape you did not foresee.

And so we pray we may turn ourselves toward the light giving thanks for Christ’s birth and this communion. May we lift our faces to let the light find us. May we bend our bodies to follow the arc it makes. May we open and open more and open still to the blessed light that comes. *

With thanks to Jan Richardson*

Prayer List

In the week ahead, please pray for comfort and healing for: Bobbie, Candie, Connor, Don, George, Joell, Kathy, Mark, Mother Elizabeth, Osmond, Pat, Rose, Sally, Scott, and the Alford family.

Prayer for our Country:

Almighty God, who hast given us this good land for our heritage: We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of thy favor and glad to do thy will. Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in thy Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to thy law, we may show forth thy praise among the nations of the earth. In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail; all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
