PLEASE KEEP YOUR 2020 PLEDGES CURRENT

COVID-19 Does Not Prevent us From Receiving Bills!
|
2021 Pledges: In these disruptive, extraordinary times, Christ Church has had to re-evaluate its financial outlook for next year as a result of declining income over the past six+ months. In addition to a decline in contributions, we have lost income from church services (e.g., weddings, Cabaret, rummage sales, rentals of facility, and space utilization.) We expect this will continue in 2021, causing a financial operating shortfall of approximately $90,000.

In addition, we are faced with a yet to be determined expense for roof repair work. Fortunately, some part of this potential cost will be covered by funds which have already been set aside.
|
Please consider helping us fill the substantial financial gap facing us as you make your pledge for 2021.
|
• We sent out annual pledge campaign letters last week along with worship information. With faith-filled generosity, please give that we may maintain a strong presence for ourselves and the broader community.
|

Annual Meeting: Sunday January 17th, 2021
Hoping to have a "normal " annual meeting, we were considering postponing, and rescheduling when health and safety concerns caused by COVID-19 were alleviated. At a Diocese Zoom meeting this past Tuesday, we were told that the Religious Corporations Law requires that the meeting be held.
The meeting will be held via Zoom with other voting options.
Details will follow over the next few weeks.

Photos and Short Videos of Nativity Scenes

Our video editor is creating a montage of Nativity scenes and Christmas greetings for our worship during the Christmas season. Please send us a short video or photo of your Nativity Scene and/or Christmas greeting to our community by December 18th.

CHOW® Pantry Donations Drop-Off
|
Thank you to all who dropped goods for our CHOW pantry on Saturday. Several non-parishioners walking past donated money as well. Our volunteers also served several walk-ins, helping to feed people in our local community. Much thanks to Barb who made her world famous church coffee to go with cake brought by Marianne!

2021 Liturgical Calendars

Calendars are now available. This year’s photo features our 2019 Christmas pageant. Please contact Barb Stanton (607-723-7268 or COUNSEL44@yahoo.com) and she will make arrangements with you to receive one. The cost remains $5.00.

Katie's Clothing Closet
|
We have received a generous donation of men's, women's and children's winter coats and jackets for Katie's Clothing Closet. We encourage parishioners to spread the word! Our clothing closet hours can be found on our website under the events tab.
|
|
While we are not accepting clothing donations at this time we continue to to accept donations of children's clothing as well as winter coats, socks, underwear, hats, scarves, and gloves.
|
|
|
Winter Warmth
|
2020 marks the third continuous year of Christ Church's Winter Warmth project! We have already begun tying bags of hats, scarves, gloves (and socks) to the railing outside the church for people in our community to take as needed.
Donations can be dropped off during office hours. If you decide to create your own bags to tie to the railing please let the office know so we can keep track of how many bags we put out this year. Our total was well over 250 bags in 2019!
We are currently in need of scarves and more masculine hats, scarves, and gloves sets.
Thank you all for your continued generosity and support.

Join us virtually for our annual Christmas Pageant as we celebrate Holy Eucharist on the Fourth Sunday of Advent. This service will be available to watch on demand on the event page and YouTube at the end of the service. The Zoom link will be included in the bulletin email. You can also access it by registering via our website. All registrations will be confirmed.

December 20th: Advent 4 with Christmas Pageant live-stream via Zoom at 10:00 a.m. and uploaded via Youtube. *

December 24th: Christmas Eve we will be at the Church in order to give communion. We will also live-stream Via YouTube at 3:00 p.m. Communion will be distributed in the Sanctuary following proper social distancing protocols. Mask will be required. You can sign up for a time slot by registering here (preferred), or you can contact the office by phone or e-mail. We will confirm your time slot. Time slots allow us to limit the number of parishioners in the space at once.

Join us each Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. via Zoom for Compline and Conversation on Race. This is a special time to anchor our midweek with prayer and to explore together the stories, history and questions of race in our country.
