Christmas Eve Communion
|
December 24th: Christmas Eve we will be at the Church in order to give communion. We will also live-stream our service Via YouTube at 3:00 p.m. This service is not open to the public and will be online only. Communion will be distributed in the Sanctuary following proper social distancing protocols. Mask will be required.
|
|
You can sign up for a time slot by registering here (preferred), or you can contact the office by phone or e-mail. We will confirm your time slot. Time slots allow us to limit the number of parishioners in the space at once.
|
Available time slots are as follows:
3:45 p.m.—4:05 p.m.
4:05 p.m.—4:25 p.m.
4:25 p.m.—4:45 p.m.
4:45 p.m.—5:05 p.m.
5:05 p.m.—5:25 p.m.
5:25 p.m.—5:45 p.m.

COVID-19 Does Not Prevent us From Receiving Bills!
|
2021 Pledges: In these disruptive, extraordinary times, Christ Church has had to re-evaluate its financial outlook for next year as a result of declining income over the past six+ months. In addition to a decline in contributions, we have lost income from church services (e.g., weddings, Cabaret, rummage sales, rentals of facility, and space utilization.) We expect this will continue in 2021, causing a financial operating shortfall of approximately $90,000.
|
In addition, we are faced with a yet to be determined expense for roof repair work. Fortunately, some part of this potential cost will be covered by funds which have already been set aside.
|
Please consider helping us fill the substantial financial gap facing us as you make your pledge for 2021.
|
• We sent out annual pledge campaign letters along with worship information. With faith-filled generosity, please give that we may maintain a strong presence for ourselves and the broader community.
|
|
|
|
Many thanks to all those who have sent in their pledge cards. We will bless all received pledges December 24th.

Annual Meeting: Sunday January 17th, 2021
Hoping to have a "normal " annual meeting, we were considering postponing, and rescheduling when health and safety concerns caused by COVID-19 were alleviated. At a Diocese Zoom meeting this past Tuesday, we were told that the Religious Corporations Law requires that the meeting be held.
The meeting will be held via Zoom with other voting options.
Details will follow over the next few weeks.

Katie's Clothing Closet & Winter Warmth
|
We have received a generous donation of men's, women's and children's winter coats and jackets for Katie's Clothing Closet. We encourage parishioners to spread the word! Our clothing closet hours can be found on our website under the events tab.
|
While we are not accepting clothing donations at this time we continue to to accept donations of children's clothing as well as winter coats, socks, and underwear.
We are currently in need of scarves and more masculine hats, scarves, and gloves sets for our Winter Warmth project. Donations can be dropped off during office hours. If you decide to create your own bags to tie to the railing please let the office know so we can keep track of how many bags we put out this year. Our total was well over 250 bags in 2019!

Pledges and other donations can be mailed to the church. If you do not have envelopes, we will use the name on your check.

Prayers & Prayer List

I cannot tell you how the light comes, but that it does. That it will. That it works its way into the deepest dark that enfolds you, though it may seem long ages in coming or arrive in a shape you did not foresee.
|
And so we pray we may turn ourselves toward the light giving thanks for Christ’s birth and this communion. May we lift our faces to let the light find us. May we bend our bodies to follow the arc it makes. May we open and open more and open still to the blessed light that comes. *
