Everliving God, whose blessed Son healed Mary Magdalene, inspired her conversion. There will be no Mass on the Grass on July 30th. We encourage everyone to join us for Mother Elizabeth's last Sunday, July 31 for the 10 a.m. service and reception.

This is a reminder that Mother Elizabeth's last day with us is Sunday, July, 31st. Hopefully you have all received the letter and 4 x 6 card from the Farewell Committee requesting a memory and photo to go into a journal for Mother Elizabeth. There will also be a reception for her and Ted after the 10:00 am service in the Great Hall on the 31st. The deadline to receive the card and photo is Friday, July 22nd. Bishop DeDe has asked Christ Church to be a Gathering Place for the
|
Diocesan convention in November
|
Only three other churches were asked to be a Gathering Place: Ss. Peter and John in Auburn; Zion in Rome; and Trinity in Watertown. Gathering Places will, for the near future, replace the convention being held in Syracuse each year.
|
Bishop Dede wished to try a "regional" approach to the convention this year as not only a cost saving to the Diocese as well as to the Churches attending, but also
to have delegates experience the benefits of smaller gatherings. The Vestry enthusiastically accepted the Bishop's request. Details of our responsibilities as a Gathering Place in future editions of Heads Up. Way to go Christ Church!

Open Position: Clerk of the Vestry
|
Christ Church has been Nancy McGorry has served this church and the Vestry admirably as clerk of the Vestry. Accurate minutes and tracking of motions are important to our work. Nancy will be stepping down, and we are seeking someone as the new Clerk of the Vestry.
The main job is attending Vestry meetings and the annual meeting, keeping accurate minutes, sending these out for approval, and maintaining our Vestry notebooks. This is a volunteer position. If interested, please contact Kevin Shea or Mother Elizabeth.

Men's clothes are desperately needed, especially slacks and jeans (used or new) and underwear and socks (new). Volunteers are also needed for a couple of hours a month. Thank you!

2) Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church on 230 Ukrainian Hill Road in Johnson City is sending shipments directly to Europe to assist people.

Restrictions for Indoor Worship Services
|
Everyone will wear a mask when entering and exiting the sanctuary and when in line for communion. You may mask throughout the service and please return to distancing.
|
|
No offering plate will be passed. Gifts will be collected online or in plates placed near the Church entrance.
|
Parking in the Metro Center parking lot is available. Press the button and take a ticket to enter. Please leave the entry ticket in the car so that it is readily available when exiting. Ushers will provide a ticket which you will need to exit. Both tickets will be needed in order to exit.
